PJP MAKRUM S.A., associating companies from the industrial sector, published the financial statements for 2020. The unusual events of the past year did not hinder the Group’s development, which resulted in obtaining over 25% increase in revenues and record profits.

The revenues of PJP Makrum in 2020 amounted to PLN 341.9 million, compared to PLN 272 million in the previous year. Operating profit amounted to 21.9 million and was higher by 174.5% compared to 2019. Net profit at the level of 14.9 million increased by 167.7%. EBITDA amounted to PLN 26.6 million, which means an increase by 121.4%.

“Despite the surprising and previously unknown situation, thanks to the involvement of employees; discipline, understanding of customers and partners, we have proved that our organization can use and even develop its potential even in such complex realities” – comments the president of PJP Makrum, Piotr Szczeblewski.

Industrial construction can boast the highest growth dynamics in the entire Group. The segment’s revenues increased by 94% (to PLN 183.5 thousand), and gross profit by 286.9% (to PLN 29.2 thousand). The development of this activity is fostered by the flourishing of investments implemented in Poland in the field of expansion of production potential, halls, office buildings, and the warehouse market, as well as the dynamic development of development investments throughout the country.

“A balanced policy of obtaining orders in the construction market by Projprzem Budownictwo Sp. z o.o.; has brought record results, both in terms of revenues and profitability of performed tasks” – says the president.

The income-stable segment of realoading systems did not increase year on year. Revenues slightly decreased (-12%), to the level of 130.9 thousand. PLN. The situation in the last year caused a slight slowdown or postponement of deliveries and assemblies. This product is directed mainly to export markets. In 2020, foreign sales accounted for 84% of sales in this segment.

“In recent years, the largest increase in warehouse space in Europe has been observed in Germany, Great Britain and Poland. PJP Makrum Group’s brands already have an established position on all these markets. The dynamic expansion in the segment of reloading systems in Great Britain resulted in a change in the nature of our activity – from cooperation with dealers to the establishment in June 2020 of a new company – PROMStahl Ltd, responsible for operations in Great Britain and Ireland” – informs Szczeblewski.

This is not the only new entity that the Group acquired in the past year.

“Extending the current field of activity with the offer of distribution and service of forklifts, platform trucks and warehouse equipment by purchasing 100% of shares in DPS Serwis Sp. z o.o. and transformation into the company PROMLift Sp. z o.o., allowed us to offer the warehouse industry the most comprehensive offer” – says the CEO about the acquisition.

PJP Makrum is also developing the production of automatic parking lots. In 2020, their sale amounted to PLN 16.8 million.

Piotr Szczeblewski: “The strengthening of the Group’s position in the domestic market of parking systems and expansion into world markets have made Modulo products already operating in Germany, Italy, Great Britain, Austria, Croatia, Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Romania and Australia.”

A selective approach to acquiring orders for MAKRUM’s core products (crushing and grinding equipment) and focusing acquisitions on projects that allow for stable profitability, translated into a satisfactory level of profitability.

Management Board of the PJP MAKRUM S.A. Group sets itself ambitious goals for the future and wants to dynamically develop through the expansion of the internal structure as well as further acquisitions.

“Soon we are opening another branch of Projprzem Budownictwo in Warsaw, which will allow us to continue our development in the field of industrial construction. We are also completing the modernization of the production plant, which will significantly increase the production capacity in the field of parking and realoading systems. We are also continuing our acquisitions. Our interests include existing entities, but also types of products and services that will allow us to increase the space in which we want to conduct operational activities” – summarizes Piotr Szczeblewski.
